Australian Eatwell Goes Rural

Our decision in July to relocate from Melbourne to the township of Donald in rural Victoria goes against the ongoing trend of centralization.

Rural townships around Australia are continually facing the issue of declining population; the roll on effect to this is the reduction of services to these areas.

Australian Eatwell’s focus is to reverse this trend and to add to the essential levels of social capital that ”glue” a community together.

We look at it simply like this.

• Staff we employ have children who go to Primary School.
• These children ensure that the student levels at the school are sustained to keep our teachers in these positions therefore in our town.
• These teachers often provide the necessary skills and expertise to assist local organisations with their children playing a part.
• These families shop; require the services of banks, general practitioners, and trades people.
